Unwanted Junk Mail / SPAM

One of the most common questions that our tech support people get asked is, "I'm getting to much junk email, how do I stop it?"

While the answer to that question is not simple, Interlinks mail servers make an attempt to identify potential junk mail and mark it in a way that our customers can use to easily handle the mail in any way they see fit.

Some customers ask, "Why not just delete all junk mail so I don't have to deal with it at all?" Well, the problem is, that as an automated system, the junk mail identification system (known as SPAM Reducer) is only 99.5% accurate. Occasionaly SPAM Reducer will identify a desired email as SPAM. For this reason, we have chosen to mark the messages in a non-intrusive manner so that customers who wish to filter their email may do so, and those who choose to receive the SPAM can simply do nothing and still receive the mail.

How much does all this cost? Nothing! SPAM Reducer is FREE! SPAM Reducer will help reduce the amount of SPAM you receive. Some messages still get past the SPAM Reducer system. To stop all SPAM you should subscribe to our SPAM Eliminator service.

How to setup SPAM Reducer?

The following instructions will help you create a folder and setup a message rule to move all marked messages to a separate folder. Theses instructions are written for customers using Microsoft Outlook Express as their mail program. If you have Outlook Express 5.5 or lower, these instructions should work for you, but we do recommend that you upgrade to Outlook Express 6 which is part of Internet Explorer 6. You can upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 from the Product Updates section of the Microsoft Windows Update site.

Instructions for Outlook Express 6

2. When the Create Folder windows pops up, type SPAM in the Folder Name and click on Ok.
